Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 August 2026.
This policy explains what personal information Landbrief collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers landbrief.com.au and the reports and alerts we send. Plain English is the intent — if anything here is unclear, ask us.
Who we are
Landbrief is a Queensland planning-information service operated by Rogaland Pty Ltd ABN 51 694 037 619. We publish automated site reports and development-application alerts built from Queensland Government and local-council spatial and register data.
What we collect
When you buy a site report
- Your email address, so we can deliver the report.
- The property address you searched, and the parcel it resolved to.
- Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we keep only Stripe's reference for the transaction.
When you set up a free development application alert
- Your email address and the area you asked to watch (which we resolve to a location and radius so we can match applications near it).
- Whether you confirmed the subscription, and when we last sent you a digest.
When you simply visit
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested), used for security, rate limiting and diagnosing faults.
- Analytics and advertising cookies — see below.
- If you arrived from an advertisement, the click identifier that ad platform added to the link (and any campaign tags), stored in a cookie for 90 days. It lets us tell which advertising actually works. It identifies the ad, not you.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) pixel on this site to understand which pages bring people here and whether our advertising works. These set cookies and share limited event data — such as "a report was purchased" and its value — with Google and Meta. They do not receive the property address you searched or the contents of your report.
You can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on, through your Google and Meta ad settings, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Blocking them does not affect reports or alerts.
How we use it
- To produce and deliver the report you paid for.
- To send the alerts you asked for, and nothing else — we do not sell your address or add you to unrelated marketing.
- To answer your emails and provide support.
- To keep the service working, secure and accurate.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run Landbrief: Stripe (payments), our email provider (delivery), our hosting provider, and the analytics and advertising platforms named above. We do not sell personal information.
Queries we make to Queensland Government and council mapping services are made for a location, not for you — those agencies do not receive your identity.
Where it is stored
On servers in Australia (Sydney). Some of our providers — Stripe, Google and Meta among them — process data overseas under their own terms.
How long we keep it
- Report orders — kept while they may be needed for support, refunds and tax records (Australian tax law requires financial records for five years).
- Alert subscriptions — until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribed records are kept briefly so we don't email you again by mistake, then removed.
- Server logs — a short rolling window (30 days; IP addresses are shortened so they can’t identify a single connection).
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from alerts using the link at the bottom of every email, or your mail app's unsubscribe button. It takes effect immediately.
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, subject to records we must keep by law.
Email hello@landbrief.com.au and we'll action it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, access to systems is restricted, and payment details never touch our servers. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and design to hold as little personal information as possible.
Children
Landbrief is intended for adults dealing with property. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes affecting alert subscribers will be flagged by email.
Complaints
Contact us first — we'd rather fix it. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
