Data sources & attribution
Landbrief's site reports and development-application alerts are built from open spatial and register data published by the Queensland Government and Queensland local councils. We reproduce and reformat that data — the reports are our derivation of it, and changes have been made.
Landbrief is an independent service. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or acting on behalf of any of the agencies below. Each source agency maintains its own data, gives no warranty as to it, and accepts no liability for how it is used.
The answers on our “Do I need approval?” tool come from each council's own planning scheme — the table of assessment published with it — where we have read it, and from the Queensland Planning Regulation 2017 everywhere else. Every answer says which.
Looking for the laws and plans rather than the data? See the Queensland planning library.
State-published planning schemes
For these councils the Queensland Government itself prepares and publishes the planning scheme as public mapping, so their zone and flood layers are State of Queensland data, credited below: Balonne Shire Council, Barcoo Shire Council, Blackall-Tambo Regional Council, Boulia Shire Council, Bulloo Shire Council, Burke Shire Council, Croydon Shire Council, Diamantina Shire Council, McKinlay Shire Council, Murweh Shire Council, Paroo Shire Council, Quilpie Shire Council, Winton Shire Council.
